Improvements to All Buildings
On site, there is a total of 3 overall buildings; the main building, the maintenance shed, and finally, the gymnasium/dining building that is adjacent/abutting to the covered play building.
Proposed Improvements
The following items present the General Work of Scope.
Work Item 1. Insulation [AS FUNDS ALLOW].

Reduce energy consumption and improve comfort of indoor spaces.

Add new insulation to all heated areas.

Add insulation in attic areas, exterior walls, and crawl spaces.

Add vapor barriers and ventilation where needed.
-
Add heat trace to pipes susceptible to freezing.
-
Add caulking around windows and at other exterior building enclosure penetrations.
-
Review acoustics of indoor areas and add acoustic insulation or panels if/where needed.

Work Item 2. Electrical systems upgrade.

Provide reliable, safe, and efficient electrical systems throughout the District facilities.

Provide new electrical distribution panels, circuits, conduits and wiring, new convenience power/data outlets, low voltage wiring, lighting, lighting fixtures, audio/video system, security system, data and Wi-Fi, and fire alarm/life safety system upgrades.

Work Item 3. Structural upgrades [AS FUNDS ALLOW].

Upgrade structural systems for improved long-term structural integrity.

Replace the current direct-bury shallow wood foundation with new wood, steel, or concrete pilings or piers, and/or a concrete perimeter foundation and interior columns and bearing walls, columns, beams, and roof members to comply to improve the seismic structural connections throughout the buildings.

The design will consider least obtrusive improvements to maintain the historical character, use of facilities as instructional and assembly spaces, and cost long-term safety of the facilities.

Work Item 4. Update interior finishes.

Update interior flooring and wall coverings to preserve and enhance the indoor aesthetics, acoustics, cleanliness, durability, and ease of maintenance of interior spaces.

Provide carpet tile and acoustic wall panels and other wall finishes to improve interior appearances where aging systems are worn and need of replacement.

Provide new paint and other finishes throughout the interior spaces, with materials and supplies that are durable and easy to clean and maintain.

Finishes that minimize maintenance costs, improve sound attenuation/acoustics, and improve energy efficiency while integrating sustainable best practices, are a priority.

Work Item 5. FF&E.

Provide new fixtures and storage for function, and long-term durable use.
-
New built in shelving and storage.
-
New upper and lower cabinets, built-in shelving to be provided in the staff and gymnasium sink areas, library, and classrooms.

New cafeteria tables and new portable bleachers in the gym.
