The latest drone video of the Satsop School modernization project says it all. From above, you can see the campus taking shape while students get ready to start the school year at the temporary Satsop Business Park campus. Even though classes are moving off site for now, real progress is happening back home.

This summer brought some big milestones. Underground utility work is complete, setting the stage for everything still to come. The concrete footings for the new gym and the ADA-accessible ramp on the north side of the main building are in place. These pieces will make a big difference once the doors open again.

Inside the building, the work feels a little more personal. The old carpet is gone, revealing the original wood floors that have been part of Satsop for generations. They are being sanded and restored so students will walk the same halls with a fresh new look while still feeling the history under their feet.

And the heart of the campus is almost ready to come home. The historic school bell has been off site all summer for a careful restoration. Soon, it will return to the belfry, ready to ring again as a reminder of Satsop’s past and a welcome to its future.

Construction will keep moving forward through the school year. With every step, the vision for a modern, accessible, and deeply rooted Satsop School gets closer to reality.
